Notes: It is unfortunate that most veterans have been trained by the military to follow orders blindly and without question. Therefore, every once in awhile, a veteran catches my attention by speaking up. And I respond by publishing what has finally pushed the veteran to break the bonds of a well disciplined soldier because it is obvious that something is wrong that must be given a voice for others to hear. John Saum, an U.S. Air Force veteran has quoted a famous American to put his finger on the failure of Socialism with a story that lances the heart of Socialism. End of notes.

Prophet of Doom and Gloom
Folks,
"Normally I do not pontificate, but the following is something I put together after the events earlier this week after American students were suspended from school for showing their patriotism on a day when another culture was being celebrated, after the American flag was taken down at another school and a foreign country’s flag raised in its’ place, after the economic turmoil of the last 2 years where the leader of America is apologizing to the world and embracing a foreign political & economic philosophy (socialism), and after reflecting on the fact that this countries greatest strength is its honest citizens and their faith, belief, and support that this is the greatest country in modern civilization and that the opportunities, and yes- failures – are the responsibility of the individual. Many have paid with blood, sweat, tears, and the ultimate price all persons pay – death, to bring this country forward from its humble beginnings. Frankly it is time we all speak out."
Thanks – consider sharing all or part of the following if you agree.
John

As the late Adrian Rogers said, "You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
This quote appears frequently on the Internet and is often attributed to Dr. Rogers with an incorrect date of 1931. In fact, the quotation is part of a longer sermon by Dr. Rogers' from 1984 in a larger series titled God’s Way to Health, Wealth and Wisdom, but it also appears as a passage in Dr. Rogers' 1996 work Ten Secrets for a Successful Family complaining that "by and large our young people do not know either the importance or the value of honest labor".
You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the industrious out of it. You don't multiply wealth by dividing it. Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn't first take from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don't have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don't get to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
A Lesson in Socialistic Failure
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan."
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F!
As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.

A Socialistic Wizard
The following clip is Red Skelton--from his television show in 1969. It not only underscores and reinforces the professors’ statement & example – it truly brings home our national creed – The Pledge of Allegiance. This is a somber reminder of why we are Americans !!
