To: One and All
Subject: Boys and Their Fathers

My brother, Bill, and I wanted to be like our father, Major Scott E. Linsley. Bill and I were born 18 months apart in 1940 and 1941. Dad had a military song book which I took to school one day when I was 10 for "Show and Tell." Someone took it from my desk during lunch period. I have never forgotten some of the songs. The other day, I went searching under British songs and found some versions of those songs that I want to share with some of you. There are 7 in all. I will distribute them in compact forms for your viewing and listening pleasure.
Take care, as always, Scott

Home, Sweet Home

Home, Sweet Home

'Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home!
A charm from the skies seems to hallow us there
Which seek thro' the world, is ne'er met elsewhere.
Home! Home!
Sweet, sweet home!
There's no place like home
There's no place like home!

An exile from home splendour dazzles in vain
Oh, give me my lowly thatch'd cottage again!
The birds singing gaily that came at my call
Give me them with the peace of mind dearer than all.
Home! Home!
Sweet, sweet home!
There's no place like home
There's no place like home!
