Notes: This is a dialogue with a disabled veteran.  The Veterans Rights Advocates are using this typical communication to build a speech and letter to reach out to all U.S. Veterans, the U.S. Congress, and the American people to help everyone to understand why the VEVRAA of 1974 Amended needs to be toughened with real teeth.

Dear George:

 
There are many "things" that many of us will not see happen before we die.  For instance, the purpose of this website, www.v-r-a.org is to support USERRA and the VEVRAA of 1974 Amended.  The OFCCP is supposed to support veterans in the workplace who work for "qualified" federal contractors.  The corruption of the VEVRAA of 1974 Amended by the OFCCP is preventing veterans from obtaining their rights in the workplace. 
 
The horror can be stated in two sentences.  About 4,000 ESA/OFCCP employees will receive retirements amounting upto $80,000/year while veterans comprise 40% of the "homeless."  There are millions of tax dollars being spent for legal aid for inmates in our penitentiaries and not one tax dollar for legal aid for veterans in the workplace.
 
The ESA/OFCCP has a budget of $1.5 billion/year.  The money would be better spent on health care for disabled veterans.  The corruption is so bad in the OFCCP that their Complaint Officers (COs) have a saying about veterans' complaints in the workplace: "There is so little objective criteria to decide veterans' complaints that the COs decide veterans' complaints subjectively."
 
Most VSOs do not have this corruption problem as a "blip" on their radar screens.  Several veterans who actively fight veteran discrimination do not even have a clue as to understanding this problem (names deleted).  In a phone call with U.S. Rep. Lane Evans, he said that "legal aid" for veterans is wholly different problem from eliminating the corruption from VEVRAA.
 
Summary: The U.S. Government, the U.S. Legal System, and the U.S. people show a bias against U.S. Veterans.  What chance does a veteran have in not joining the U.S. Homeless due to discrimination in the workplace?  For a published analysis of the OFCCP problem, please click here.

I know about (namer deleted) and have been working with them all along. I've done a lot of writing also. I am Not a person who sits on his hands. I have a
couple of personal firsts (in this country) also. I don't talk with
sarcasm, you miss interpreted my total disgust for humans especially in
high places. But because I don't know everything I can't say I know who
(name deleted) is but am sure that I should know about him. I am very
satisfied with my life's accomplishments (I am now 74) but would like to
see things pair, unbiased and straightened out before I die.  I have
whipped cancer twice now --whats next.

If you do not want to communicate without sarcasm, we can advise you to contact some other veterans organization.   As advised, we will answer your question in this dialogue: "When are we going to get all our benefits back?"

Not even (names deleted) can give you a time frame in answer to  your question.  Many years of hard labor, phone calls, e-mail and letter writing have been spent in trying to obtain full reinstatement of  military retiree health benefits.  One veteran (name deleted) is taking the health benefits war's  next battle to the U.S. Supreme Court.  Another veteran (name deleted) is preparing another  assault on the U.S. Congress for a Concurrent Receipt bill to be passed for all disabled military retirees.  Both of these fine men have spent many years to  obtain these benefits for you and others in the same category.
